Denis Matsuev has opened in Vladivostok Regional Program of the Year of Culture in Russia

January 13 2014

He performed on the new stage of the Primorsky theatre of Opera and Ballet. This concert is already the seventh for the artist in 12 days of this year.

Performances were organized for the residents of the Far East in Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. All collected funds will be directed to help the victims of last year's floods. And now the music is played in the capital of Primorye.

Skill of the executor complements the unique acoustics in the hall. Wooden ceiling gives fluctuations, like the bottom of the hull of a violin. And, of course, it is worth mentioning that the piano, Matsuev played that day, had been selected by the musician himself last year, shortly before the opening of the theatre in Vladivostok. Prior to that, he came to the city only once, in 1994 when started his career.

"It is good, that there is a possibility to build new theaters, new halls in Russia I have said many times, that, unfortunately, in our country what is good is not as popular as it should be. Do you see what I mean? All are in pursuit of some sensation, some dirt... Theater is a temple of art, and it will be here for centuries. And the unique opportunity for the public to attend operas, ballets, and as it turns out concerts too, because we have a Grand piano that is singing on the stage. The acoustics is great," - said Denis Matsuev.
