At a press conference with journalists the pianist shared his plans for the next year and noted the importance of the announced Year of culture in Russia. According to the artist, this event is the certain signal to people engaged in culture that changes are coming. In addition, the musician will take part in his first official events to be held in Vladivostok.

«Everything starts with the culture, and we should not forget about it. Culture is our pride along with treasures of the soil and aviation industry - answering the question of the correspondent of RIA «East-Media», said Denis Matsuev. National defense, social projects are important, but without the culture they are useless. Many officials believe that the culture is only something entertaining. We need to change this attitude. Financing of culture’s been insufficient for decades, although I know that there are a lot of different cultural programmes and projects in Russia. I know how enthusiastically people in regions cooperate with visiting musicians and with local talents. We have many unique, great traditions».

The musician noted that now a fantastic team of young artists is formed in the Russian musical culture. Russian performance school, according to the Maestro, reigns all over the world. Indicator are the results of numerous international competitions. As the pianist noted, today a young talent have a lot of chances to become famous.

«There is a philharmonic boom in our country now. I travel all around Russia a lot and I see how many young people come to the concerts. 10 years ago this was not the audience hungry to hear some classical music. In contrast to Europe and America we have a great amount of opportunities for talented children. There are various funds, like «New names» Foundation, Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov and a variety of festivals and projects,» - said Matsuev.

Immediately after the performance, people's artist of Russia traveled to Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where he will also give a charity concert for victims of the floods.
