Grand Piano Competition 2026
On June 13–19, 2026, the V International Grand Piano Competition for Young Pianists, led by Denis Matsuev, will be held in Moscow.
First held in 2016, the project is held every two years. The non-standard format competition, where all participants have the opportunity to perform with an orchestra at the Tchaikovsky Hall, has proven its effectiveness: many of the competitors, who have gained invaluable stage experience, have successfully pursued international careers.
Applications are open until April 20, and pianists under the age of 16 are welcome to participate. The main prize of the competition is an acoustic piano, and the winners and diploma winners, as well as their teachers, will receive cash prizes. The Grand Piano Competition will be held on June 13 at the Tchaikovsky Hall. The first round of auditions will be held at the Concert Hall of the Central Music School-Academy of Performing Arts, and the second round and final gala concert will be held at the Tchaikovsky Hall.
