Annecy music festival

From the 21st to the 31st of August the French town of Annecy will host the classical music festival. The programme will consist of symphony and chamber music concerts as well as recitals. This year the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit will have the residence at the festival. The audience should expect to hear Nikolaï Lugansky, Henri Demarquette, Sergio Tiempo, Diana Higbee, Jacques Rouvier, Klaus Häger, Claire-Marie Le Guay, Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Hisako Kawamura, Bertrand Chamayou, Brigitte Fossey and, of course, Denis Matsuev – the artistic leader of the event.

On the 21st of August Denis Matsuev and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit will open the festival by performing Berlioz, "Le Corsaire" opening, Beethoven, Concerto n°3 for piano, and Dvorak, The New World Symphony. On the 28th of August the concert “Russian youth from Siberia” will take place, where Denis Matsuev and the Orchestre des Etoiles du Lac Baïkal headed by Leonid Bezrodniy will play Liszt, Concerto n°1 for piano, Dounaevsky, Opening of the movie Les Enfants du capitaine Grant, Lagidze, Saghidao, Bizet, Carmen, Opening, and Dvorak, Danse slave n°2 opus 72. On the 30th of August Denis Matsuev, Sayaka Shoji and the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yuri Temirkanov will play Wagner, Lohengrin, Prélude à l’Acte 1, Prokofiev, Concerto n°1 for piano and Concerto n°2 for violin and Stravinsky, Petrouchka.
