World-famous Russian pianist Denis Matsuev will give its charity concert in Komsomolsk-on-Amur; his solo performance will take place on January 10

MOSCOW, January 09. /ITAR-TASS/. World-famous Russian pianist Denis Matsuev will give its charity concert in Komsomolsk-on-Amur to raise funds for people hit by a devastating flood in the Far East last summer, the press service of the Russian Culture Ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

His solo performance will take place on January 10.

“Tickets for the concert are disseminated among music lovers, hit most by the natural calamity,” the press service said, adding that Matsuev would give his first concert in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and then would continue his tour across the United States and Israel.

“Let’s help Primorye!” was the first charity concert that took place in Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Concert hall on October 21. Matsuev performed together with the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra. The concert unveiled a series of charity projects initiated by Russia’s Culture Ministry to help those hit by the flood in Russia’s Far Eastern regions.

“This is not only an emotional and musical message, but also an opportunity to provide real financial support,” Matsuev told Itar-Tass. “My first tour took place exactly 20 years ago. This was in the Far East. I remember all these cities, which were affected by the flood - Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk. I remember people who came to my concerts.”

The pianist added that he himself was born in Siberia. “I felt bad about residents of Primorye, when I knew about their misfortunes,” he said.
